Trattoria di Carlo & Pizzeria

About us

Chef Carlo Pedone's family has been cooking beautiful meals for many generations. The recipes used in our kitchen today started with Carlo's grandmother, who brought her famous red sauce to the United States from Sicily.

When Carlo opened Trattoria di Carlo in 2002, he wanted a restaurant rooted in his family's heritage. Many dishes on our menu re-create Italian recipes with contemporary flair - and the best ingredients. Carlo imports many meats and cheeses from his native Sicily, but also uses local pepperoni, Canadian bacon, and veal, and when in season, vegetables from the restaurant's garden. Everything in our kitchen is made from scratch. Custom orders for a small group are our specialty!

Trattoria di Carlo is all about cooking the perfect food for your family. You'll leave our restaurant feeling happy and comfortably full. That's part of being Sicilian - you can't let people go hungry!

Meet Chef Carlo

Carlo Pedone was raised in the restaurant business. His parents and grandparents spent more than 60 years in restaurants in Sicily and the United States, and Carlo learned to cook in a restaurant's kitchen.

When Carlo was young, the Pedone family moved from the Midwest back to Petrosino di Marsala, in Sicily. He grew up there, cooking with his parents, until he was 16. When he returned to the United States as a young adult, he began cooking in his parents' restaurant - Napoli Restaurant & Pizzeria. Carlo began cooking for special customers that would let him create anything he wanted in the kitchen! He still does this today at Trattoria di Carlo.

Carlo is and always has been hands-on in the kitchen, which sets him apart from many other restaurateurs. Chef Carlo hopes Trattoria di Carlo will make people feel at home like they're having a wonderful meal with family.
